Origins and History of Valle de Guadalupe Valle de Guadalupe's history dates back to the 16th century when Spanish missionaries settled in the Kumiai territory, now located in Ensenada, Baja California. Taking advantage of the similar land and climate conditions to their homeland, they started cultivating grapes, apricots, pears, and olives, with the purpose of producing consecrated wine.
